When it comes to super affiliates Mark Ling is one of the best. He’s not always been as successful but his innovative approaches to the affiliate marketing industry have been pushing him towards his goals since he started making money online in 1999.
Early Years
Mark Ling’s affiliate marketing journey started way back in 1999 when one of his close friends Charlie revealed his internet poster selling business while playing squash. Back then internet marketing was reasonably easy although few marketers made anywhere near the millions that they they do now. It was still a good earner and they collaborated on a Geocities website that sent traffic to a poster sales website.
This was making them about $50 per week for a single banner, ok you may laugh now but sometimes a small start is all anyone needs! Mark Ling concentrated on selling celebrity posters while Charlie built websites around sports posters. They build a handful of these small sites and were now making a modest income.
Mark quickly learned that aiming for larger and higher spending markets would be very lucrative and soon he was multiplying the $50/week. Building more sites as quickly as possible was a priority so he dumped his old pizza delivery job and started paying friends to help him. The growth in his business was almost exponential.
Mark Ling and Charlie ranted a house kitted out with the best 486 PC’s they could get hold of and started pumping out profitable websites in between their classes. Quickly leaning the basics or search engine optimization and getting traffic to these poster sites they were quickly becoming successful in a virtually unknown industry.
Recent Successes
Since setting up small poster sites in 1999 Mark Ling has used the skills learned to create many affiliate sites focusing on a wide range of niches from dog training, marriage advice, video games, learning languages and making money online. Keeping up with developments Mark now uses social media, youtube as well as PPC and many other traffic methods to build a seven figure income.
Mark Ling is still working hard on his own projects but today also shares the secrets of his success with other budding affiliate marketers. With the AffiloBlueprint training course launched in 2008 and quickly followed by his Affilorama blog and affiliate marketing lessons. Mark Ling always provides some amazing free tools and information which has build up a valued and productive community of affiliate marketers. In 2010 Mark has just launched the breakthrough product AffiloJetPack, a simple way to get content rich websites online.

Many internet marketing gurus are focus almost entirely on the IM niche Mark still get most of his income from his own niche sites out with the IM field. This gives him a great insight into the marketing world at large and is a large part of his success.
